How We Calculate These Estimates
Cost Per Lead
The cost per lead varies by market and channel. SEO leads are typically cheaper ($20 to $40, industry-reported range; your figures will differ), PPC leads cost more ($50 to $100+, industry-reported range; your figures will differ). A blended figure for many dental practices sits in the $30 to $80 range, again an industry-reported range that your practice will differ from. Leads per month is your budget divided by this number.
Conversion Rate
The conversion rate (leads to booked patients) varies widely. Many practices see 3 to 10% (industry-reported range; your figures will differ). Practices with excellent follow-up systems may reach 15 to 25%, an industry-reported range that your practice will differ from. New patients per month is leads multiplied by this rate.
First-Year Patient Value
Use the production you expect from a new patient in their first year (for a general practice, typically 2-3 visits). Patients who stay multiple years have a higher lifetime value, but a first-year ROI should use first-year value only. Net ROI is the profit on that revenue at your margin, minus the year of marketing spend, divided by the spend.
